Smoke are at increased risk of stroke or heart attacks. Increased blood pressure is another danger of smoking. Smoking also reduces the levels of HDL  respiratory infections more often than nonsmokers. Snuff smoke is hazardous to nonsmokers. Exposure to smoke, also called passive smoking increases the risk of nonsmokers of having the same problems as smokers.

A nonsmoker, remain in a very smoky room for an hour with several smokers inhales as many bad chemicals if fumase which actually inhale 10 or more cigarettes.

One study showed that the rate of lung cancer among nonsmoking women depended on the amount of cigarettes, cigars or pipes smoked their husbands. Smoking affects pregnant women and their unborn children. Mothers who smoke have an increased risk of spontaneous abortion and stillbirth.

Children of mothers who smoke have, on average, lower birth weights. They also have more frequent respiratory infections, increased risk of chronic ear infections and asthma, lung function and less efficient. Recent findings suggest a possible link between cigarette smoking and maternal disorder attention deficit (hyperactivity) in children. It also continues to investigate the possibility that exposure to cigarette smoke may be a factor in sudden infant death syndrome (in English, SIDS). Children of smokers usually also develop the habit of smoking cigarettes. The greater the number of cigarettes a person smokes each day, the greater the risk of disease.

The switch from cigarettes to pipes or cigars may not reduce the risk of disease if the smoker continues to inhale the smoke. The cigar and pipe smokers have the same risk of cancer of the mouth, lips, larynx and esophagus as cigarette smokers. Fortunately, when a smoker stops smoking, many of these risks decrease. Those who use snuff or chewing snuff (smokeless snuff “) increase their risk of cancer of the mouth. Mouth cancer can develop relatively quickly, within 10 to 15 years of first use of snuff or chewing snuff.
