Detox Diet: Harmful or Helpful?
What exactly is a detox diet? As described by several sources, a detox diet is a nutritional regimen that involves changing habits and poor diet to cleanse your body of toxins and other pollutants.
A detox has become all there is to do these days, and many claim that completing a detox can improve overall health and digestion and to increase resistance to disease and help control weight.
All this can be achieved with good, nutritious eating habits and healthy lifestyles, but it seems to want to do everything the hard way, therefore, a detox diet is necessary to take back to the point where it should have been anyway.
A detox diet can be composed by different methodologies. Some people prefer fast, and only drink water or juice for a certain period of time. Others prefer to increase the amount of fish they eat.
Others restrict the amount of calories they consume, while others resort to methods such as bottles of a detox diet herbal. Some even go on a diet of lemonade that is more commonly known as the “master cleanse” detox diet.
It is logical that any detox diet must be carefully monitored to ensure adequate intake of nutrients, and many suggest that only one person add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Of course, staying away from fast food and soft drinks, cigarettes and alcohol is a fact. A detox diet is all about changing eating habits and adopting healthy and nutritiously balanced diet and a former McDonald’s and Taco Bell offers. It has become fashionable to call everything offered by this drastic change in diet or habits of a detox diet.
However, some argue that the body is already more than able to get rid of toxic waste and that a detox diet is not only unnecessary but also can be dangerous. Our bodies are designed to contain a certain amount of fats and sugars, and to try to rid the body of these elements with a detox diet can cause medical problems such as anemia, low blood sugar and weakness and lethargy.
The balance of electrolytes, fats, enzymes, proteins, carbohydrates and body are finely tuned and should not be manipulated. A detox diet allows only liquid that is not considered a safe alternative for exercise and a normal, balanced diet.
Studies have shown that lack of protein in most common types of detox diet decreases muscle mass in individuals. With less muscle, your metabolism automatically slows, threatening more intentional weight loss diets, regardless of what you do.
Call it whatever you want. While a detox diet can help people learn new and better eating habits, as with everything, a detox diet should be undertaken by the prudence and wisdom. Perhaps you could avoid all this unnecessary detox diet only for things to eat better and exercise more in the first place.
I agree with the first answer. You can also take a tablespoon and leave it in the freezer, then take it out and put it over your eye for about 5 minutes. The coldness of the spoon gets rid of puffiness. But there’s no other cream that can make them vanish. The best thing is to get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water. Good luck!
Ok, next time that there is a repub convention that everyone needs to attend, you’ll suggest that just one person fly in and all the others will need alt transportation, right?
